Your mountain really is waiting … and all the fish, birds, game and beauty of nature are there for you to enjoy, too! You can better enjoy your fishing and hunting experience by learning from experts and joining in the outdoors community. Where to go? Who will be there? What can I contribute? These are questions we all face as we spend time outdoors in New Mexico and beyond.
It’s a good thing that some of the most experienced and thoughtful advocates of our Southwestern outdoors are gathering together soon; February 8th-10th at Bob Gerding’s Outdoor Adventures show at Expo New Mexico! You can come meet them and learn more about hunting, fishing, archery and other outdoor adventures whether in New Mexico, Alaska, or even South Africa. You can also learn how you can help keep our lands beautiful, our trout healthy and our game plentiful.
Noted authors, educators and guides will be with Bob to share the insights that drove them to write and share their secrets and ideas about where to go and how to make the most of your time once you get there. Their books on fishing and exploring our lands should be on everyone’s shelf and even the most experienced fisher and hunter can discover a new spot to try this year from them.
We know that a good education starts with the kids. That’s why experts like Ti Piper and others will be teaching casting, helping learn safety on the BB gun range, hunter’s safety, plus cooking demonstrations, fly casting demonstrations. Plus hundreds of knowledgeable people will be ready to help your children onto the right path to having fun while staying safe outdoors.
Friendly experts will be at the Show to share details on our parks and preserves right here in New Mexico that are yours to enjoy! You haven’t really been outdoors until you’ve experienced the Valles Caldera in winter, the San Juan River in the summer, Elephant Butte Lake in the spring, or Pancho Villa State Park in the fall. How about a 2013 resolution to visit all 35 NM State Parks … I bet you’re missing a few on the list – these folks can help you see all the wonder our parks have to offer.
So don’t get caught outdoors without the right knowledge and the right advocates back home helping keep your outdoors healthy and strong. Come connect with the experts so you can enjoy our beautiful outdoors.
